A daughter in Egypt writes for her mother, who has had seven operations in about six weeks after a hip fracture, followed by serious wound infections. The family has spent about EGP 228,000 on her care and borrowed EGP 154,000 from relatives and others, none of it repaid yet. Treatment is ongoing and can cost up to EGP 20,000 a week for antibiotics, injections and wound-care supplies. They ask for help with the medical debts and the continuing treatment, and are gathering the hospital reports.
