Giving Your Zakat With Confidence

A short guide to who can receive your Zakat — and how Beckah ensures it reaches them.

Zakat is not a donation in the ordinary sense. It is a pillar of Islam, an obligation with precise rules about who may receive it. Giving it carelessly risks the obligation itself.

The eight categories

The Quran names eight categories of eligible recipients (Surah At-Tawbah, 9:60) — including the poor, the needy, those in debt, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled. New Muslims often fall within these categories during a vulnerable early period.

How we keep your Zakat valid

At Beckah Foundation, programs that are Zakat-eligible are clearly tagged. Our Community Services program directs Zakat funds only to those who qualify — discreetly, in full, and without deductions for overheads.

When you give your Zakat through Beckah, you can be confident it reaches exactly those Allah named as deserving.
